About the club

Originally constructed in 1971, the Oak Club of Genoa, with its mature, tree-lined fairways and fantastically manicured greens, has proved to be one of Chicagoland’s best kept secrets for over 40 years. Designed by the famous Illinois Golf Architect, Charles Maddox, Sr., The Oak Club of Genoa has received a number of acclamations including being named one of the “Top 25 courses in the Chicagoland” by the CDGA, which ranked it amount such top-rated courses like Rich Harvest Farms, Medinah Country Club, Olympia Fields, and Bull Valley Golf Club. The course has also played host to qualifiers for the U.S. Junior Girls Championship (2003), the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship (2006), the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship (2009), and the Sectional qualifier for the 2002 U.S. Open played at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, New York. The Oak Club of Genoa underwent a major renovation on the back 9 in 2006 in order to add a driving range to the facility. The renovation added 3 brand new holes to the beautiful layout, and included changes to existing holes. Although the change to the back 9 utilized the terrain and mature Oak trees very well, it was decided to return most of the back 9 to its original layout. The Oak Club of Genoa will continue to make course improvements in the upcoming seasons in order to provide a challenging but enjoyable golfing experience to all of our patrons. In addition to an outstanding golf course, the Oak Club of Genoa boasts a full service banquet hall, bar, and a fully stocked pro shop with a PGA golf professional on staff.
