About the club

While the other courses in the country's southeast are forced to close during the dry season, Eagleton's modern sprinkler system keeps this course open all year around. The length is only moderate—for which reason only women's championships have been played here—but conditions are excellent for the short game. What makes the course enjoyable is the way that the narrow fairways match the small greens, so that players must, even though they may be not be using long irons, frame their approaches to the greens very strategically. More advanced golfers will appreciate the satisfaction of being able to hit the greens when playing off the back. The water hazards here are carefully considered. The first holes ease players into a round, as is often the case with less recent courses, but the challenge stiffens progressively, and more than one great round has come unraveled on the final holes.
