About the club

The Old The Old Course at the Jagorawi Golf & Country Club was the top course in Indonesia when it debuted in 1979, and while the club remains prestigious, the layout itself has not evolved to keep pace with advances in how the game is played at the championship level over the past three decades. For one thing, at only 6587 yards, the Old is certainly too small to accommodate today's top players. Multiple British Open champ Peter Thomson teamed up with Ronald Fream and Michael Wolveridge for the design, and the resulting course is picturesque and also demanding despite its modest length. Thus the fairways are tight and lined with trees, and the par 5 1st starts things off with a challenge hardly surpassed anywhere. The enchanting clubhouse is built in the native style and houses an attentive and accomplished staff that makes sure that maintenance is always superb. The New The Jagorawi New course is said to be long and difficult. And maybe it is. However, with a choice of 4 tee boxes, players of every level of skill can find enjoyment in playing it. Twice the venue of the Indonesian Open, the New course is more open and wide. Long hitters can grip it and rip it here. The front nine is a nice exercise for what is to come on the back nine. Holes #11, 12 and 13 are definitely the score killers where accuracy plays a more important role than distance. Designed by the same tandem Thomson and Wolveridge, with the New course both gentlemen were able to create an equally interesting but yet different layout than the Old course.
