About the club

The Palmer Ryder Cup course may be Ireland's best known, as it for a long time hosted the European Open and was also the place where Europe took the Ryder Cup in 2006. Of the two courses at K Club, both designed by Palmer, this one is the standout. At over 6700 meters from the tips, the course covers plenty of ground as it winds its way through the historic Straffan Estate, not far outside Dublin to the west along the Liffey River, which is the source for some of the water hazards. Among the standout holes are the par 5 16th with its small green surrounded by water, the par 4 17th on the banks of the Liffey, and the par 5 18th, which requires a large carry over water. The Palmer Ryder Cup course offers a real challenge for even the very top pros.
