Croara Country Club

About the club

Croara Country Club is a charming and scenic golf destination located near the town of Gazzola, just a few kilometres from Piacenza in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy. Set in a gently rolling landscape influenced by the mild climate of nearby Liguria, the club’s golf course lies between the alluvial plains of the Trebbia River and the foothills of the Apennine Mountains, offering a blend of varied terrain, panoramic views, and richly wooded surroundings. The course features 18 technically demanding holes with moderately narrow fairways, bordered by oak, chestnut, poplar, and locust trees, making each round both a strategic challenge and a visual delight for players of different skill levels. Originally opened as a 9-hole course in the mid-1970s and later expanded to its current 18-hole layout, Croara Country Club has grown into a respected fixture in Italian golf. The course is a par-72 layout measuring approximately 6,065 metres, with the original holes designed by Buratti and additional ones by architects Croze and Lo Cascio. Its reputation has been enhanced by hosting important tournaments, including the first Italian Women’s Open, highlighting the club’s ability to combine competitive golf with a naturally beautiful setting. Beyond golf, the club offers a welcoming clubhouse where visitors can relax after a round and enjoy traditional Italian cuisine, along with a range of facilities such as a driving range, putting and pitching greens, a swimming pool, tennis and padel courts, a pro shop, and professional coaching services. Its location in the Trebbia Valley also places it close to historic villages, castles, and natural attractions, making Croara Country Club an appealing destination for those who wish to combine golf with cultural discovery and scenic exploration.
