About the club

The summer colony immortalized by Winslow Homer — America's greatest painter lived and worked at Prouts Neck from 1883 until his death in 1910, and virtually every major painting of his Maine period was created here. The private peninsula community south of Portland remains one of the most artistically significant private summer communities in America. The Prouts Neck Country Club provides the social framework for a community of approximately 200 summer families who have protected the peninsula's character for over 140 years.
