About the club
Founded in 1924 by a Congressional charter and major corporate founding members, Congressional Country Club in Bethesda is the most prestigious country club in the Washington DC area. Host of the US Open (1964, 1997, 2011) and the PGA Championship (1976). The Blue Course by Devereux Emmet, heavily renovated by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and later Rees Jones, is consistently ranked among the top 25 courses in America. The membership spans Washington's diplomatic, military, congressional, and business elite.
