Milton-Hoosic Club

My family has been part of this community for over 40 years, and I proudly grew up here. The staff is exceptional, and the new clubhouse is fantastic. The golf course consistently maintains its excellent condition, making this place truly outstanding.

I remember visiting here a few times, when I was a kid. My grandfather worked there, in the 80's, and I remember he lived close to the venue. I remember there was a path in the back yard of where he lived, that lead to 1 of the holes, along the course. I don't remember what hole it was, but I remember how nice the course was.

For years I have taken my evening walk around the Ponkapoag area, which I live in. The furthest point on my walk is the clubhouse of the Milton Hoosic golf club. This evening as I was walking, I was stopped by a man who said he is the general manager but would not give me his name (it was the man in the photo). He asked me what I was doing and I politely told him I was on my nightly walk as I have done for years. He told me I was trespassing, that I had to leave, and could not walk there again. I asked for a reason for him caring about me being on the property and his story kept changing. One version was insurance and the other was they had had problems. The reason I walk on the golf course path is because the cars fly down Greenlodge. I don’t understand how a 51-year-old person wearing reflective gear, who is keeping to himself and listening to a podcast on the history of the English language is a liability or a threat to the golf course’s wellbeing, but I will abide by their new found rule, but not without sharing this first. In my opinion, this removal of me from their property is rather unneighborly and unreasonable. I mean really who cares if part of my evening stroll happens to be on their property.
