About the club
Simply "The Country Club" — the oldest country club in America, founded in 1882 in Brookline, Massachusetts. One of the five founding members of the USGA (1894). Host of the 1913 US Open (Francis Ouimet's miracle over Vardon and Ray — the most important moment in American golf history), the 1963 US Open, the 1988 US Open, and the 1999 Ryder Cup (the American comeback). The course, designed by Willie Campbell and evolved by William Flynn, is the most historically significant in American golf.
