The Country Club
About the club
The Country Club, founded in 1882, is one of the oldest golf clubs in the United States. Originally focusing on outdoor activities such as horse racing and polo, golf was introduced in 1893. Notably, The Country Club was one of the five charter clubs which formed the United States Golf Association in 1894. Willie Campbell added the first full 18-hole course to The Country Club in 1895. The Country Club is a private facility with membership by invitation only. The club's facilities include tennis courts, an Olympic-size pool, skeet shooting, and curling in addition to golf.
