About the club

Robert von Hagge designed 27 holes for Grand Isla Navidad Resort in 1994. The site could not have been better, on the Pacific Ocean overlooking Navidad Lagoon. The facilities are luxurious, with service to match. The exquisite clubhouse features floors of marble and stained glass windows, and a superb restaurant that serves up local favorites and dishes from around the world. There are a variety of different routes that can be made up from the 27 holes, but the place to start is the Ocean+Mountain combination. The fairways are generous, though some of the landing surfaces are tight, and there are bunkers and water hazards, which also defend the greens. The most memorable hole would have to be the 175-yard par 3 3rd on the Ocean, where the green is framed by a breathtaking seaside vista. A trip to the region can also work in a round at nearby Tamarindo.
