The members-only Club at La Querencia, which debuted in 2000, boasts one of Tom Fazio's finest layouts beyond the borders of the US. The excellent experience is rendered unforgettable by the panorama of the Sea of Cortez. Those lucky enough to secure an invitation—and to get a tee time on the club's crowded schedule—will revel in the VIP treatment, outstanding clubhouse and top-notch practice areas. The subtlety of the layout is such that it could be played daily without getting boring, though it may be a bit too much for weaker players. The fairways are ample enough, but the greens can only be reached with careful shot placement. The par 3s and 5s are the standouts here, especially the par 5 4th, which is as beautiful as it is demanding. Players can round off their day at nearby Palmilla, one of the finest resorts anywhere.
