Oakland Hills Country Club North Course
About the club
Overshadowed by the South course, which has hosted over a dozen major championships, the Donald Ross-designed North course shares many features with The Monster, albeit more subtly. The greens have plenty of movement and are often guarded by deep bunkers, as they are on the South. The back nine has a nice variety of holes, including the reachable par-5 12th with a green surrounded by a railroad tie-lined water hazard, the drivable par-4 15th, and the long par-4 17th, with a dramatically tumbling fairway. The course was used alongside the South during stroke play at the 2016 U.S. Amateur.

Beautiful sounds. Nice, well kept clay tennis courts and excellent food. They also have a large pool and exquisite golf course. They are rebuilding the main club house, after a fire destroyed it a few years ago. Hopefully it won't be too much longer.

My family and I have been members of Oakland Hills Country Club since I was a little girl (a long time ago). The clubhouse is finally almost rebuilt, and it’s just as beautiful, if not more so now than ever before!!!

OMG. Came here to watch a friend play in US Junior Amateur. Easily the toughest course I have ever walked. Windy, few trees, heavy rough, skinny fairways and diabolical greens. Pristene conditions for a USGA event. Anyone who loves golf should visit this Donald Ross gem.
