About the club
In 1920, Donald Ross was invited to remodel this 1916 Willie Park Jr. design. For some unknown reason, Ross did not include Minneapolis GC in his resume. His work here wasn’t insignificant: Ross moved the clubhouse and reconfigured the routing, making it mostly his own, and the course was deemed strong enough to host the 1959 PGA Championship, won by Bob Rosburg. A recent renovation by Jeff Mingay altered the bunkering and recaptured many original green contours. It is well known in the Twin Cities as the “Player’s Club” because of the number of single-digit handicappers.

Recently we got to photograph a wedding at the Minneapolis Golf Club, the name is deceiving as it is not in Minneapolis but in St Louis Park and I must say this is a hidden gem! If you are looking for a beautiful location in the west metro check it out!

We got married on 10/21 and used Minneapolis Golf Club for our reception and I'm SO glad we did! MGC is affordable and Nancy was a joy to work with! She really knows her stuff, responds to you in less than 24 hours for ANY and ALL questions (and I had a lot!) and made me feel confident about our choices. When we did our final walkthrough, the ball room was already setup so we got to see it and Nancy was able to give us suggestions on layout/seating due to her knowledge and experience. We had about 180 people and the space was big enough to not make it feel too crowded but it also wasn't too big. Their food was great and our guests kept raving about it. I highly recommend checking out MGC for your wedding, you won't regret it!

I have to give a RAVE REVIEW to the Minneapolis Golf Club, Nancy Johnson and her entire staff for executing the wedding of my daughters dreams on Saturday 10/14/23! The venue is beautiful and the ceremony and then reception flip was flawless! As with any large wedding, emotions are high and so is the stress. As we tried to coordinate family photos I didn't convey the right information to our photographer and there was some confusion about where photos could take place. The ultimate result was that Nancy Johnson accompanied our families to the member area as an exception to the rules, and made sure we could get the pictures we wanted. The food was fantastic, the service above and beyond, and the party was a great success. I would highly recommend the Minneapolis Golf Club to any future brides who are lucky enough to hire them!
