Our breath-taking views of the Sandia Mountains and spacious banquet facilities make Club Rio Rancho the perfect place for your wedding, banquet or special event. Club Rio Rancho was designed and built in 1970 by nationally respected architects, Desmond Muirhead, who created the West nine, and well known golfer, Gene Sarazen (Nicknamed the "Squire"), who developed the East nine. The architects saw the opportunity to develop quite different but equally challenging nines for both men and women. In doing so, they succeeded by creating 18-holes of championship golf that high and low handicappers alike can enjoy. Shot placement is extremely crucial as deciduous trees are strategically placed throughout the course. Special care was taken during the development of the Club Rio Rancho community to maintain property lines that would not interfere with the play on this classic course layout. The fairways feature primarily Bluegrass, and the greens consist of Seaside Bent.
