Vermejo Park Ranch
About the club
The largest private ranch in the United States open to guests — 590,000 contiguous acres in northern New Mexico and southern Colorado owned by Ted Turner. Originally assembled by the Maxwell Land Grant in the 1800s and operated as a private sporting preserve since. Trophy elk, mule deer, pronghorn, black bear, bison, and Rio Grande turkey hunting. Some of the finest trout streams in the West. The scale is incomprehensible: guests routinely drive 45 minutes from the lodge to their hunting area — entirely on private land.
