New York, New York
Racquet and Tennis Club
About the club
The most exclusive athletic club in America, founded in 1875. Located in a landmark 1918 McKim, Mead & White building on Park Avenue, the Racquet and Tennis Club is the last place in New York where court tennis — the ancient "real tennis" game that preceded lawn tennis — is seriously played. Membership is strictly limited, by invitation only, with a waiting list measured in years. The epitome of WASP old-money New York.
