About the club
The most secretive social club in New York City — perhaps in America. Founded in 1903, The Brook has no website, no telephone listing, and no public presence of any kind. It is located in a townhouse on East 54th Street known only to its approximately 350 members. The membership is entirely self-selected: no one applies to The Brook. Existing members propose new members, and the process is one of extraordinary discretion. The dining and social program is considered superb. The membership includes the inner circle of New York's financial, legal, and media establishment.
