About the club

Bjaavann Golfklubb is just north of the town of Kristiansand, near the regional airport, in the so-called Norwegian Riviera. The club's name comes from the Norwegian word for beauty, and it suits the site, on ridges overlooking the lake that are dotted with big trees and winding creeks. When Robert Trent Jones II beheld the place where he was to build this course, he declared that "the good people of the Bjaavann Golfklubb have truly provided us with a wonderful canvas to create golf art. This extraordinary site embodies all the many beautiful characteristics with which Norway is blessed. It is our job merely to discover and unveil a great golf experience while respecting Mother Nature." Just as he promised, Jones let the terrain dictate the flow of his layout, nearly all of which can be viewed from the clubhouse that occupies the high point on the grounds.
