About the club

The Evje Golfpark course on the Eyre Sound is the work of architect Jeremy Turner. Turner has not produced very many designs, but his reputation is bound to grow now that his layout here has come to be regarded as one of the finest in the Scandinavian countries. He demonstrates his affection for the famed shoreline courses of Ireland, England and Scotland, though the flat farmland on which Evje Golfpark is built has none of the dunes that define the authentic links. Over a decade after opening, the landscape has come into its own. The routing begins near the sea, where crosswinds are very much in play. In order to compensate for the need to keep the ball close to the ground in these conditions, the greens here allow for run-ins and short pitches. Bucking contemporary design trends, the course features some obscured fairway and green shots.
