Firestone Country Club
About the club
Firestone Country Club was established in 1929 by Harvey Firestone, the founder of the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, as a recreational facility for his employees. The original South Course was designed by Bert Way and opened in the same year. Over the years, the club has undergone several renovations, most notably by Robert Trent Jones Sr. in 1960, who redesigned the South Course to enhance its challenge and appeal for professional tournaments. The club has a rich history of hosting prestigious golf tournaments, including the World Series of Golf and the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, making it a significant venue in the world of professional golf. Firestone Country Club is a private club, and access is generally restricted to members and their guests. The club has hosted numerous corporate events and outings, reflecting its strong ties to the business community.
