Longaberger Golf Club

About the club

Arthur Hills designed the 6623-meter, par 72 layout for Longaberger Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio, around the turn of the millennium, and since then it has become recognized as one of the state's premier public courses. The practice facilities include a large driving range, bunker areas and greens for pitching and chipping so players can be fully warmed up when they start a round. The course itself extends over gentle hills and valleys dotted with trees. It is a true test of golf, with forced carries and contoured greens. Sometimes the trees are in play, as on the 1st, a dogleg with one growing in the center of the fairway. Perhaps the most memorable hole is the 4th, which at over 550 yards drops fifty yards from the tee-off. The unusual features of Hills's layout may put some people off, but it's worth a try just for the novelty.
