The Country Club (Pepper Pike)
About the club
William Flynn created the original design for The Country Club, an exclusive private facility located in the exclusive Cleveland suburb of Pepper Pike OH, in 1930. The club itself was founded in 1889, and is famous as the origin of the rubber-cored golf ball. Michael Hurdzan carried out major renovations in 1988, and Brit Stenson did further work at the turn of the millennium. The resulting par 72, 6600-meter parkland layout is one of the best in the US. Nicely proportioned and superbly maintained, the course features generous, contoured fairways and unique holes that can be played in various ways and that increase in difficulty toward the greens. Any players fortunate enough to have the privilege to play the course will appreciate the spacious clubhouse and the many services it offers. Visitors can combine a round of golf with a visit to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in nearby Cleveland.
