Cobble Beach Golf Links

About the club

Canada's own Doug Carrick created this course following a sojourn in Scotland, and has given it an open, countryside feel. Located in a development some ways from Toronto, Cobble beach is set on a fine piece of ground that looks out on the Georgian Bay. The broad fairways go continually up and down, and the greens offer a fair amount of pitch as well. The movement of the holes is exemplary; this is a course that can be walked for maximum enjoyment of the lake views. The 1st is a fairly average par 4, but by the nearly 500-yard the 5th, which plays out over a desolate fairway, the difficulty becomes apparent. The end sums the course up: the drop shot par 3 17th works toward a slim green on the water with a hollow on the right margin, and the uphill, par 5 18th forces players to contend with a brook.
