This genuine links course at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort was laid out, fittingly, by a designer from Scotland, the land of links, namely David McLay Kidd, and it helped to establish his reputation. The Bandon Dunes is the original course at a club that some have called the finest golf resort on the continent, even though it only opened in 1999. Located on fairly isolated stretch of the southern coast of Oregon, the layout blends perfectly with the setting for a superb meeting of form and function. The club lives up to its designation as a resort with impeccable maintenance and an attentive staff ready with refreshments at the halfway point. Be sure to hire a caddy, since no carts are allowed here. The views are simply breathtaking, in particular from the par 3 6th hole, which overlooks the ocean from a perch fifty yards above the shore.
