About the club
The original 18 holes at Tam O’ Shanter was built in 1929, just before the Great Depression began, by Emil Loeffler — the superintendent of Oakmont Country Club. In 1948, Jack and Mary Lou Kerins purchased the course. Jack and Mary Lou along with their three children, John, Rick and Mary Ann, lived above the small shop for many years before settling down on the 13th hole
