The Palmer Course Arnold Palmer created the 6500-meter, par 72 Legacy Course at Orchard, which just a year after opening in 1994 attracted the Johnnie Walker Classic (in which Fred Couples was victorious), the most prestigious event in Asia. Mangos were once grown on the site, and the terrain moves up and down. Fairways are narrow, with the out-of-bounds frequently in play. The holes vary nicely, and from the tee off on the 1st, which is uphill and blind, to the putting green on the long par 5 18th, which is sloped, players will be put to the test. That last hole also boasts water hazards and fourteen bunkers; elsewhere players will find doglegs in one, the other and even both directions, par 4s that range from over 450 yards to under 350, and a par 3 of less than 120 yards but where the green is completely obscured by the slope.
