Mount Royal Club
About the club
Founded in 1899, the Mount Royal Club is the cornerstone of Montreal's anglophone establishment and historically the most prestigious club in French Canada. Its Sherbrooke Street West building, designed by Stanford White associate Bruce Price, is a masterpiece of Beaux-Arts architecture. The club was the gathering place of CPR Railway barons, bank presidents, and the old-money families who built industrial Canada.
