Moscow Country Club Golf Resort

About the club

The idea became reality in 1988 when construction of Russia's first and only 18-hole golf course began. The project developed into Moscow Country Club, a one-of-a-kind golf resort only 45 minutes from the City Center. The course itself was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. who is regarded by many as one of the world's foremost architects of golf courses. The course is set in the deep Russian forest where large evergreens, birch and native wildlife complete a very impressive setting. The course surroundings include lakes, two streams and a variety of sand bunkers. The concept is a classic strategy with the hazards placed to create risks and rewards and to challenge even the most experienced player. Commenting on the course as it was being constructed Mr. Trent Jones Jr. said, "It was designed to be a very traditional parkland course. From back tees it has sufficient length and difficulty to host any type of championship tournament." This statement has proven itself to be true. The very first Russian Open Golf Tournament was held at the club in 1993 on the front nine holes. MCC is now the permanent venue for this event. The importance that the Russian Government places on Moscow Country Club is evident through the President's patronage of the President of Russia Golf Cup, which takes place at the Club each year at the end of May.
