About the club

Robert Trent Jones II designed this 5800-meter, par 72 course at Wild Coast Sun Country Club, part of the Wild Coast Resort and Casino complex on the Umtamvuna River. The wild landscape that gives the facility its name determines the layout, and it took all of Jones' skill to work the eighteen holes into the craggy landscape. The course is a real pleasure to play, and though not long, with half a dozen par 3s, it creates a challenge with its clever strategies. Power hitters will have to rein themselves in and give careful attention to club selection. Scores definitely improve with repeated play, once players get used to holes like the 13th, which tees off over a gulley and waterfall. The club is part of the South African Sunshine Tour and has hosted international events. Visitors can also enjoy cruises on the river and a variety of water sports.
