About the club
Woo Jeong Hills, an hour and a half outside Seoul, has attracted the Korea Open event on the OneAsia Tour repeatedly since opening in 1993. Perry Dye managed to create a fun and exciting course in the US tournament style on fairly level ground. The holes vary in orientation and display the Dye family approach to golf course architecture. A good example is the 7th, where the view of the green is partly obscured, while a water hazard and a cavernous bunker further complicate the approach. Other memorable holes are the 12th, where landing areas are dictated by a pot bunker, and the 221-yard, par 3 13th, which plays to an island green—in fact, this hole dashed the hopes of Ernie Els during the Korea Open in 2004 with a double bogey. Those used to Korean courses designed for business golf will find this one a real challenge.
