About the club

The mountainous site outside Valencia that Golf and Country Club El Bosque occupies required the touch of an architect like Robert Trent Jones, who was known for being able to create courses in the most unlikely places. The resulting parkland layout has an American feel, though it certainly doesn't play like something out of Florida; the rarity of flat lies here is, however, in keeping with what you find on many of the classic courses. And there are not in fact many hills to climb as you work your way over the tree-lined fairways. The bunkering and water hazards are out in the open, and the roominess compensates for the wild bounces that the arid conditions can cause. Among the better holes are a couple nice doglegs and some superb par 3s; there are also some nice raised tee shots. Golf carts are available, but most players walk El Bosque.
