About the club

Mar Menor Golf Club: A Touch of Simplicity Amidst Spanish Elegance Located in the picturesque region of Torre-Pacheco, Spain, Mar Menor Golf Club is a golfing destination that offers an engaging yet straightforward golfing experience. This David Thomas-designed course, while not the most challenging, provides a unique blend of simplicity and elegance that appeals to golfers of all skill levels. The course layout, divided between two distinct nines, is characterized by its flat terrain and straight fairways. The first nine holes demand good strokes to put the ball into play, with a par 37 stretching over 3,275 meters. While the layout might seem almost too uncomplicated for seasoned golfers, it's this simplicity that makes Mar Menor a welcoming environment for beginners and those looking to enjoy a relaxed round of golf. The course maintenance is commendable. Despite being a high-traffic course, it's kept in excellent condition, with well-manicured greens and fairways. However, it's worth noting that some golfers have mentioned the greens being on the longer side. One memorable aspect of the course is the three holes around a small lake, providing a scenic and challenging feature that adds character to the otherwise straightforward layout. While Mar Menor might not be the most challenging course in the Murcia area, it offers a comfortable hotel with all benefits, making it a great place for golf holidays. The clubhouse features a pro shop and a restaurant. The resort also offers extensive practice facilities, including a driving range, which is a plus for those who wish to warm up before their round. However, it's important to note that some golfers have reported disappointment when the course was under refurbishment, with only 8 out of the 18 holes open. It's recommended to check the course status before booking your round. In conclusion, Mar Menor Golf Club is a delightful golfing destination that combines simplicity with quality.
