About the club

The golf course was designed by the prestigious and renowned golf designer Mr. F.W. Hawtree. Hawtree, taking advantage of the topography, placing the fairways in the valleys and with almost no earthworks. "On a walk around the estate, he began to explain to us where each of the 18 holes would go, with hardly any clearing," says one of the founders. When the region's own wind, the "cierzo", blows, the course becomes a new journey. To play with or without wind at La Peñaza is to play two completely different courses. The integral reform of the greens in 1999 carried out by Integral Golf Design (José María Olazábal) resulted in a technical course that rewards the precise player more than the players with a great power. When the wind blows, the course becomes very difficult for all types of players.
