Saurines de la Torre Golf Resort: A Desert Oasis in the Heart of Spain Nestled in the sun-drenched region of Murcia, Spain, Saurines de la Torre Golf Resort is an enchanting destination that offers more than just a round of golf. This Jack Nicklaus-designed, 18-hole course presents a desert-style layout, reminiscent of the famous courses of Arizona and Nevada, providing a unique golfing experience in Europe. As you approach the resort, the vast, sandy landscapes and sparkling lake stand in stark contrast to the typical lush greenery of most European golf courses. The clubhouse greets you with its modern design, featuring a pro shop stocked with the latest golf gear and a restaurant/bar offering a selection of local and international cuisine. Locker rooms are also available, providing all the amenities needed for a comfortable golfing experience. The course itself is a par-72, stretching over 6,498 meters, and is characterized by undulating fairways, strategic bunkering, and a large central lake that comes into play on several holes. The most notable feature is the 9th hole, a challenging par-5 that requires a careful approach shot to avoid the water hazard guarding the green. During my round at Saurines de la Torre, I was particularly impressed by the condition of the greens and fairways. Despite the desert-style layout, the playing surfaces were well-maintained and offered a consistent roll. I found the course to be challenging yet fair, with a good mix of risk-reward opportunities. The wind can add an extra layer of difficulty, especially on the more exposed holes. Rental clubs are available at the pro shop, and although caddies are not offered, electric trolleys can be rented for those who prefer not to carry their bags. The dress code is relaxed, with collared shirts and tailored shorts or trousers required. The surrounding area is tranquil and scenic, making it a great place to unwind after your round. Additionally, the resort offers a range of accommodat
