Bro-Balsta Golfklubb

About the club

Bro-Bålsta is a tribute to the classic golf courses on the British Isles, adapted to the Nordic climate. 18-hole course with generous fairways and large undulating greens. Forgiving for one or another skewed rash but demanding the closer to the hole cup you get. 9-hole course with alternating par 3 and par 4 holes, narrower from the tee with challenging green areas where technology is important. Balance, proportion, harmony, rhythm and emphasis are the basis for meaningful golf, says Peter. He has had the classic British courses as a model in terms of game strategic content and design. Soft landscaping has also been a word of praise and the aim has been for us to have a peaceful and inspiring experience. Forest edges and ponds are kept in a semi-wild state to benefit bird life. Gravel roads and footpaths between the holes have been designed as "reinforced nature trails". The course is experienced as beautiful, generous and fun to play, even though you have to wrestle with one or another semi-blind stroke. The undulating greens are usually perceived as easy to hit but difficult to putt. If you are not on the right part of the green, you have just postponed the challenge. When the flag placements have been made with imagination and expert thinking, you get a lot to think about. If you want to attack the flag from the fairway, the drive should perhaps be placed at the outer edge of the generous fairway, often right next to a bunker or a water obstacle.
