Located within striking distance of Taipei, Sunrise Golf & Country Club occupies a spacious setting that offers scenic vistas almost wherever you look. Following in the footsteps of his father, Robert Trent Jones II has been very active building courses outside his native US, and he shows his commitment to his designs by staying onsite until his creation is ready to be played and seeing to every detail of the grounds, which here includes countless flowers. The layout benefits from some nicely varied topography and wooded areas. At 6583 meters, the course has the length for tournament play, and it is enlivened by bunkers and water hazards. A halfway shop provides refreshments off the 6th and 14th holes. The luxurious clubhouse features over eighty fine guestrooms that offer views of the site, restaurants featuring local and Western fare, and facilities for squash, bowling, tennis, swimming, basketball and billiards.
