The University of Texas Golf Club was established in 2003 as the home course for the University of Texas men's and women's golf programs . The club was developed through a partnership between The University of Texas and Steiner Ranch Development . The facility was specifically designed to provide championship-caliber practice and playing facilities for the university's golf programs while also serving as a private club .
