Blue Canyon Country Club - Lakes Course
About the club
The Lakes Course at Blue Canyon Country Club, opened in 1999 in Phuket, Thailand, is a par-72, 7,129-yard championship course designed by Yoshikazu Kato. Sculpted from a former tin mine, it features water hazards on 17 of its 18 holes, earning its name and reputation as a strategic challenge. Recognized as a “Pleasurable Masterpiece,” it balances demanding 270-yard target areas for professionals with wide fairways and generous TifEagle greens, making it accessible to amateurs. Set in a 720-acre valley with the Andaman Sea and Phang Nga Mountains as a backdrop, the course weaves through canyons, creeks, and rubber tree stands, preserving the natural landscape. Its signature 18th hole, a 471-yard par-4 ranked among Asia’s best by Asian Golf Monthly in 2003, demands precision with a gorge protecting the green. Renovated in 2006, the course offers a fair yet thrilling test for all golfers. The clubhouse, inspired by Japanese Meiji-era architecture, features a Pro Shop with top-brand gear, a terraced restaurant serving Thai and Western cuisine, and 31 rooms with course views. On-site amenities include a spa, practice facilities, and mandatory caddies, enhancing the luxurious experience. Golf carts are required, and a strict no-outside-food policy applies, ensuring an exclusive atmosphere.
