My husband, a couple friends, and myself took a sailing intro course with captain Lenny on the Opus. He was great at talking us through and showing us how to do all the hands on bits. We had a great 3-4 hours on the water and even got to sail back into harbor, the weather and wind was perfect. ( He also gave us some great local dining recommendations! )

My wife and I learned about a very thorough sailing education program called NauticEd from Captain Terry Grover. We signed up for the online Large Sailboat Skipper course through Houston Sailing/NauticEd and we were impressed with the depth and quality of instruction. We completed our 40+ hours of online book/theory study and testing with 20 hours of practical instruction on Opus, a 33’ Hunter, with Captain Tony Raleigh and Captain Terry. The time we spent on the boat also allowed us the receive the practice skills verification require by charter companies and insurance companies for our future sailing goals of owning and crushing a 40+ sailboat. We highly recommend Houston Sailing, Captain Terry and Captain Tony!

Just completed a one day catamaran refresher course with Captain Terry. We got way more than we hoped for. Captain Terry not only knows what he is doing, but his positivity and enthusiasm made the practical lessons and advice easy to understand. Our next bareboat trip will be more enjoyable because of his patience in helping us not be “those” credit card captains that make sailors cringe. Worth every penny.

We had an amazing time with Captain Terry on the Opus! We sailed into the sunset on a relaxing 4 hour sailing experience in Galveston Bay. Communication was exceptional with quick responses to all of our questions. The Opus had everything we could have needed. Looking forward to another trip soon!

Highly recommended!! We sailed on Galveston Bay, one day aboard Opus (mono-haul) and the next day aboard The Flying Pig (Catamaran). The conditions were excellent both days, 15 - 20 Knots! Captain Instructor Terry is great!! Briefings focused on safety, sailing theory and hands on practice... Terry was patient and accommodating, addressing all our questions, doubts and curiosity! We practiced all that we wanted, focusing on sailing maneuvers and moving around under motor in the harbor area. On the second sailing day Shaun joined us adding experience and knowledge aboard her "Flying Pig" and delighted us with amazing Mediterranean delights!!! Thank you Terry and Shaun! We will see you soon!
