Sadly the ownership of the club is a for profit private group of individuals located in San Antonio. This club has changed hands several times because each only viewed the club as a short term investment to turn a profit, then it's sold. This club in it's hay day was home to the LPGA, over the years the course has never been renovated and deteriorated. Courses require renovation and re-grassing every 15-20 years to maintain quality conditions. This course hasn't been done since it was built in the 70's. The greens are rounded and no where near original design. The topsoil is mostly clay and prevents adequate growth. The grass is now a mix of grasses due to contamination over the many years. During one year the super intendent was fired and blamed for the conditions although it wasn't his fault. The club's course budget is far less than typical 36 hole private clubs with quality courses. The water restrictions by the county don't help, and the man power for the agriculture is lower than quality private clubs. Riverbend nearby is better in terms of course quality, although it too is now in need of re-grassing. One last area of note, since it's private the owners will always rent out the venue at the expense of the members to earn a buck. So there are times you won't have access. If you want a social life with tennis and average at best golf then consider this club. Else look elsewhere, the quality is far better outside this club.

The golf course view is beautiful but the food was not so good. Salad was on the table but no salad dressing. We asked for vinegar and oil but the waiter brought back ranch dressing.

The Sweetwater Country Club itself is in a beautiful location. The drive in to the country club was in a beautiful setting. The leadership from our company hosted a regional event at the Sweetwater Country Club. The event was great and the staff friendly and helpful.

Sweetwater Country Club is a popular spot for dining and golf in the Sugarland area. The club offers a variety of dining options, including a fine dining restaurant, and a bar. The menu features a variety of classic American dishes, as well as some more unique items. Sweetwater Country Club has a reputation for being a family-friendly club with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The club offers a variety of activities and programs for members of all ages, including golf lessons, tennis lessons, swimming lessons, fitness classes, and social events. If you dine in ask for Andrea, he was so nice and friendly.

I visited Sweetwater Country Club for a private function, and this place is something of delight! I had no idea this golf course was Sugarland, TX. It's nicely tucked away from the Highway 59 with large open areas, within an gorgeous and exquisite community. I loved the upgrades they've been doing here starting with the inside breakfast and diner area. It looks very modern, highly appealing. Great valet service and just the sheer amount of golf carts available, that was very nice for everyone who came out from around the state. The staff is wonderful, very helpful throughout the two days I was there. I was also very impressed with Karma DJs audio and video team. They brought out a great sound system and some very large tvs on stands or trusses, had to be to more than 70 inches, so we all could see what was displayed very well while in the Ballroom area. The food provided was spectacular as well. Very happy at how everything turned out and with all that given for the cause. Looking forward to coming back soon.
