This is a total SCAM. After full 2 hours of tour, the retreat company said our tour was considered incomplete. I and my husband was present for the entirety of the tour with Mr. Eric, from check-in through the two-hour land viewing. Towards the end, my husband felt sick experienced about of nausea, likely due to the winding car ride, and briefly stepped away to get some water. While my husband was getting water and took a break at the end of the tour to refresh, Mr. Eric (Sales rep) proceeded with showing me the pricing for the two properties we had viewed. At that time, he mentioned the tour might be considered incomplete due to my husband's brief absence. I inquired whether any further action was needed from our end, especially given my husband's discomfort, but was assured that there was nothing further required. Following this, the front desk confirmed our tour was complete and that the gift card would be sent via mail. We traveled two hours to attend the 9 AM appointment with our friends, with a genuine interest in exploring potential land purchases. We were shown two properties, while our friends, during their visit, were shown five. It felt a little premature to be presented with signing options after viewing only two properties, especially given my need to discuss this further with our friends. We are concerned that his brief pause to address his nausea is being used as a reason for the company to deny the token of appreciation. Later we received the email that we are not eligible for the gift card as my spouse was not present in the last few minutes. To be candid, we found this application of the terms to be somewhat unfair. We were initially very enthusiastic about the possibility of investing in land through your company, especially based on our friends' positive experience. But now we will not recommend this to anyone based on our experience. This company will find a small fault to say that they cannot provide your token of appreciation gift. I have sent many emails about this incident and they never responded and the phone they provide seems like its a one way.

They loot your money it’s a SCAM. Hello Everyone, be cautious about this Retreat properties. Never ever buy these properties. For the price what ever you buy never in your life time you can sell for same price to anyone including The Retreat resorts( they never rebuy it). you will be paying a lot of money for cheap lands. I bought a lot in retreat now I am suffering for that. I have contacted many realtors but no one is interested to buy. DON'T BUY AND SUFFER YOUR LIFE TIME. I have bought a peace of land for $40k and property land buyers are asking for $5k. Apart from this you have to pay HOA and property tax. Which is not worth at all. For reference CHECK THE PRICES QUOTED IN ZILLOW FOR THAT LOCATION. I would like to give not even a single star. It’s completely a scam. They loot your money.

Concerning the bad reviews here...I feel so bad for the people who have been scammed by the Retreat sales office. I've heard many stories from current homeowners/land owners that the sales people are not being truthful with their sales tactics. We experienced a few problems when we purchased a lot 9 years ago, but eventually we were able to build a home here. It has been a wonderful place to live. This community is very special! The beauty is unmatched, the golf course is one of the best in the whole state and the neighbors have become our closest friends. We have to move out of state now to be closer to family and we have discovered that the sales office will tell you that it will cost you thousands of dollars to have a membership transferred if you are buying a house here. That is not true. Contact one of our many great realtors who live in this community to look at the current homes for sale. Don't go through the sales office. Find the Retreat, Cleburne on Zillow or another site and contact the listing agent...not the sales office!

This people are a scam. they pay people to bring you there and sale you a dream that is not realistic. I bought a land the for almost 2years plus now 85 k now its worth about 5k the offers that I get. they sign you up with a mortgage company to be collecting money every month for a land that is useless and you will never do anything with it or own it neither can you sale it.

Scam Scam! Be aware! I am regretting that I bought this land. Arnold will deceive you and give you some good offer just to buy the land. It’s been over 1 year that I bought the land, I have not received the deed of sale, no title. I can’t sell the land, the company they introduced to me to buy the land searched my lot in the county office but lighting was found. Today in 31/01/2024, the rate has increased to 7%, meanwhile mortgage is around 6.0 Do not buy any lot from them, you will regret you did
