About the club

Bon Accord Golf Club, located in the scenic Aberdeenshire region, is a true gem for any golf enthusiast. This prestigious club offers a remarkable golfing experience with its well-maintained course and excellent facilities. The club boasts not just one, but two courses for golfers to enjoy - the Balgownie and the Silverburn. The Balgownie course, designed by the renowned Willie Park Jr., spans over 6,000 yards, providing a challenging yet fair layout for players of all skill levels. With 18 exceptional holes, the course showcases the beauty of the surrounding landscape, incorporating natural features such as dunes, bunkers, and undulating fairways. One of the highlights of the Balgownie course is the championship tee at the 14th hole, known as "The Himalayas." This signature hole presents golfers with a breathtaking view of the North Sea and requires precise shot placement to navigate the undulating fairway and avoid the strategically placed bunkers. Although the Balgownie course presents a great test of skill, it also offers numerous opportunities to recover from wayward shots. Fairways are generous and well-manicured, allowing for forgiveness, while the subtly contoured greens provide an additional challenge. The excellent maintenance of the course ensures a consistent playing experience throughout the year. As for hazards, the course features strategically placed bunkers and well-positioned water hazards that demand strategic shot selection. Golfers should also be mindful of the unpredictable winds that can affect ball flight, especially along the coast. The setting of Bon Accord Golf Club is truly picturesque, with panoramic views of the North Sea and the stunning Aberdeenshire coastline. The rolling fairways and lush greenery create a serene and tranquil atmosphere, immersing players in the natural beauty that Scotland has to offer. Aside from the captivating scenery, Bon Accord Golf Club also prides itself on its top-quality facilities. The clubhouse exe
