Brackenwood Municipal Golf Club

About the club

Brackenwood Golf Club is a private golf club who play on a municipal golf course owned by the Wirral Borough Council. Just like all other golf clubs in Cheshire we are affiliated to the Cheshire Union of Golf Clubs and through them to the English Golf Union. To all intents and purposes we are very similar to the proprietry Pay & Play courses which have sprung up in the last ten years. The club was established in 1935 and accordingly we celebrated our 75 birthday in 2010. As many of the existing members will not be around to celebrate our centenary in 2035 we decided we could not let the birthday go by without a celebration. We hired a marquee and following a Saturday Night party we had a golf competition on the Sunday and a barbacue. It was indeed a very great celebration and one all those present will long remember.
