About the club
The course is kept in excellent condition throughout the year by our experienced and hard-working greenkeepers and is also well-drained, which means that we are able to stay open for play in all but the most extreme weather conditions. Our course is played on a wonderful mixture of well-manicured common parkland lined with both mature trees and gorse and has been awarded the prestigious National Green Flag. With the help of former Ryder Cup player and Honorary Member, Ken Brown, the course was considerably extended in 1995 and now measures 6,214 yards from the white tees. The greens, fairways and surrounding areas have matured into a great course which provides a good test for all categories of golfer. The course is challenging from all the tees and has lush, well-manicured fairways from which your shots into the flags will need to be accurate as you face some well-protected greens with often testing pin positions. The greens vary in size and have some subtle breaks which will need careful reading as they will provide a good test of your putting ability.
