Kirkby Lonsdale Golf Club

About the club

Kirkby Lonsdale Golf Club is a modern, vibrant and family friendly members golf club. Our scenic location in the idyllic Lune Valley makes it a great place to play golf. The course is open all year round and a full calendar of competitive or social golf is available. The club has recently expanded its range of flexible and family orientated membership options and is welcoming to both new and existing golfers. We have a great social scene and regular events are held throughout the year such as quiz nights, music nights, themed food nights and barbecues. The Junior Section is expanding and enjoys regular weekly coaching and competitions. Our golf course is set in over 160 acres of parkland in the beautiful Lune Valley and is our members' pride and joy. Established 25 years ago, the course has reached a level of maturity and conditioning that makes it a pure pleasure to play. Our Head Greenkeeper and his team work hard to provide members and visitors with true putting surfaces and excellent fairways throughout the year. The Men's course measures 6550 yards (SS 72) from the competition tees and 6300 yards (SS 70) from the daily tees. The Ladies course is 5700 yards (Par 73, SS 73). The par of 72 is evenly distributed over the two halves, each having two par threes, five par fours and two par fives. The course is set out in two anti-clockwise nine hole loops that make full use of the natural landscape. The front nine crosses Barbon Beck and works it's way down to the River Lune, before returning to the clubhouse. The back nine then heads north up the Lune valley, presenting you with spectacular views of the Howgill Fells, before reaching the high point of the course on the 15th green. The final three holes then provide a strong finish as you turn back into the prevailing south westerly breeze, with our signature 17th hole being a 157 yard par three to a green located just over Barbon Beck.
