About the club

La Grande Mare Golf Course is set in over 120 acres of land on Guernsey’s western coast, adjacent to the sandy beach of Vazon Bay. It offers a unique opportunity for golf on a delightful Hawtree-designed “parkland course” with the facilities of a four star hotel. The firm of Hawtree & Sons are among the most respected golf course architects in the world. They have been designing course since 1912 and have built over 200 courses worldwide. La Grande Mare Golf Course opened for play in March 1994. It was originally designed around 14 holes with four double greens and extended to 18 holes in 2001. La Grande Mare Golf Course prides itself on having a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. As well as accepting green fees from non-members, the Club also holds several open competitions and regular events for members throughout the year. Practice areas and a covered driving range are available along with a teaching area. The Club is a recent addition to the wide range of facilities available at La Grande Mare. Providing a relaxed environment in which golf and health club members can unwind following their exertions, The Club has proved to be a popular choice. It’s not just a bar or restaurant, it’s not just a cafe or lounge and it’s not just a club room - in fact you might say it’s a little bit of each. Boasting a wide selection of drinks including one or two interesting wines, all at very competitive prices, The Club is open seven days a week from early morning through till 11pm.
