About the club

Port Glasgow Golf Club is a splendid little golfing secret situated some 22 miles west of Glasgow. A varied moorland course, "The Port" provides spectacular and enchanting views of the Firth of Clyde and the rolling farm land which surrounds it. Designed by James Braid, Port Glasgow Golf Club was founded in 1895, initially as a 9 hole course before being expanded to 18 holes (par 64) in 1920. Port Glasgow offers panoramic views over the Firth of Clyde, Ben Lomond, the Cowal and Kilpatrick hills. Noted for maintaining its condition all year round it will test the accuracy and judgment of most golfers particularly when the wind gets up!
