Welcome to Reay Golf Club, a traditional links course on the scenic North coast of Scotland - the Scottish mainland’s most northerly 18 hole links course. Reay Golf Club lies on the edge of Sandside Bay and offers panoramic views of the Pentland Firth and North Atlantic from every hole on the course. This hidden gem is a true example of a links course, as you would expect when the legendary James Braid had a hand in its design. Its exposed location and the typical challenging conditions call for real shot making, from punched long irons, little bump and runs to hitting under the wind. This is how the game started and what real golf is all about. The renowned golf course architect Donald Steel is quoted as saying of Reay, “In a different location, it would enjoy worldwide acclaim.” But it is precisely the location that gives the course at Reay its great distinction, as the most northerly 18 hole links course on the British mainland. One of the many benefits of playing golf in Caithness is that there is no need to book a tee time, just turn up and play. No need to worry about packed courses or 6 hour rounds - more often than not you can have the course to yourself. This is where you can experience golf as it was intended. A game for everybody.
