Royal Musselburgh Golf Club
About the club
Royal Musselburgh Golf Club, established in 1774 is the fifth oldest golf club in the world. The picturesque parkland course (1926), designed by James Braid, is kept in superb condition and is full of interest and hugely enjoyable to play, especially the last five holes on the home stretch. The appropriately named par three, 14th “The Gully” sets a challenge as short tee shots will be penalised by a 50 foot drop just in front of the green. Conveniently located a few miles from Edinburgh, just off the A1 and en route to the famous links courses of East Lothian, the scenic course has views of Edinburgh and Arthur’s Seat. The magnificent Clubhouse – the historic Prestongrange House - has an impressive collection of golfing memorabilia, including The Old Club Cup – the oldest trophy still competitively played for in the world.
